SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT

As a part of regular Monday NSS activity, on 20^th Feb. 2023 a guest lecture come demonstration was organized on “solid waste management”in the AV Hall. The resource person of this activity was Dr. Kanika Jindal. She talked about Kitchen waste management and home composting. During her talk she emphasizes on using kitchen peels and other waste of home for making compost –the black gold. She demonstrated the process of making compost to all. The speakers have also showed different type of pots and compost maker apparatus in which compost can be made at home. During the session she explained do’s and don’ts of the entire process.  She has shown different green and brown waste available at home from which compost can be made. She explained the chemical composition of green and brown waste and their required quantity in compost. The session was very interesting and ended with query handling by the expert.
