Rally to Showcase the Culture of Assam
To celebrate the idea of India as a nation wherein to establish state to state connect,the students of IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur showcased the culture of Assam by the means of a rally on14thFebruary 2020 under 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’programme. The main objective behind this activity was showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Assam to students of Rajasthan to inculcate the innate chord of binding and brotherhood, subsequently fostering a sense of common identity within the diversity. The rally begun after flagging off by the Registrar of IIS (deemed to be University), Dr. Raakhi Gupta. A total of 185 students participated in rally with full excitement and enthusiasm.Approximately 25 students dressed up in Assamese attire, moved rhythmically in a set of steps to the Assamese dance- Bihu which they learnt from Assamese students of the university. Rest of the students were asked to carry posters related to Assamese culture, food, clothes, biodiversity, religion andsports.After taking a round of the campus they showcased their Bihu dance on stage in front of all the students and faculties of the University. At the end the Vice Chancellor of the University- Dr. Ashok Gupta, joined the activity and appreciated the efforts of students.
