Guest Lecture

The NSS unit of IIS (Deemed to be University) organised a guest lecture on Forest Conservation on Monday, February 10th, 2020. The Guest Speaker for the lecture was Mr. Joy. The guests were felicitated by presenting plant.

Mr. Joy started the lecture by introducing the concept of Bio-diversity and forest. He emphasized on India as a "Mega-Diversity Nation". He shared many facts rwlated to Bio-diversity with the students. In his lecture, he talked about the threats and reasons of reducing bio-diversity. He talked about the anthropological reasons of disturbed bio-diversity in various places of world which included migration of foreign species to the foreign land and trying to make them survive. He also talked about all the climatic effects deforestation has.

In his lecture, he also talked about the relevant solutions of conserving the bio-diversity. Such as reducing the use of AC, Fridge, vehicles, etc can save environment. He emphasized on the value of collective societal efforts for Conservation.

It was a learning lecture for the NSS volunteers that inspired them to make their effort for the first and bio-diversity conservation.
